Welcome

Hello! Apologies for the slight mess, it’s still a little rough around the edges as I settle into my new online home. I’ll provide a little info about me but this site isn’t really about me. Rather, as the title suggests, it’s about my views on the CBS show Blue Bloods. Anyway, I live in the UK so I’ll be posting about each of the season 9 episodes as they air on its new home of Sky Witness. I’ll probably post about a few other things depending on what I’m inspired by. This is my first attempt at a blog and is mainly driven by the fact I was writing longer and longer comments on Instagram posts and YouTube videos. It was getting to the point I thought there was a good chance I would hit the character limit. I hope at least one person finds what I’m writing interesting but if not at least I’m getting these thoughts out of my head.

As I already mentioned I live in the UK so have no affiliation with the show. I’m just a fan who spends far too much time thinking about it! I certainly don’t agree with some of the viewpoints as they’re presented in the show but I always find it interesting. I think that by focusing on the various family members it really is set apart from all of the other police procedurals and this allows it to stand out from the crowd. I first discovered the show at the end of 2017 and started watching season 2 episodes. I was quickly hooked and Jamie Reagan soon became my favourite character. Of course I was very happy to discover that there were a lot more episodes to watch and I quickly worked my way through the boxsets.

My posts are likely to be a mix of ponderings on various aspects of each episode. I’ll be writing about my thoughts on the storylines and character motivations. I’ll be writing about how I’ve reacted to the episode and what I’ve found funny or exciting. Finally, I’ll be writing about whether there are points I notice which might link back to previous episodes. If you aren’t up-to-date then there are likely to be spoilers so please keep that in mind when reading. What I’m writing is purely my interpretation of the episodes, it’s very unlikely that anyone will agree with everything I write but I hope my ideas at least seem interesting.

Please feel free to comment on the posts, I do love a good discussion and, even with 280 characters, tweets are still too brief to get into any depth. All I ask is that you’re polite and try to respect other people’s views even if you don’t agree with them. The blog is named after Jamko as Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko will be my primary focus but there will be asides regarding the other characters on the show even if I don’t cover their storylines in full.

I might be being overly optimistic as I’m hoping that other fans find what I post interesting but if anyone has anything they think would make a good post I would love to involve you. Maybe you want to do a rec of your favourite fanfics or vids. Maybe you’ve got a theory you want to share. Maybe you’ve got a rant you need to just get out there. In the meantime I hope you don’t mind as I waffle on about this show and its awesome characters…

Playing With Fire is due to air on Sky Witness on 25 March at 9pm GMT. I’ll aim to post my ponderings soon after it’s been on.
