What I love about Jamie and Eddie is how much they always care, wanting to fix every problem at home and at work. Both of Jamie and Eddie’s storylines challenged them, and together they found solutions.

I hope there is a continuation of Baez’s storyline; it echoed a lot of what she said in Triumph Over Trauma. Even though her visitor will have helped resolve her feelings about the case, there’s definitely more to explore. Danny and Baez are very similar in how they focus on their work, but Danny seems to be managing his work-life balance better than Baez. Can only wonder where this is heading if the show still doesn’t want to pursue a Danny and Baez romance. There’s a definite suggestion that Baez needs something more in her life.

Following this episode, should we expect more fun in Frank’s future? He definitely hasn’t allowed room in his life for a significant other since Mary’s death, but he and Sloane seem to have that in common, so they’re well-matched. However strange it may be that Baker will always know what he’s up to…

Overall, it was an episode that gave characters time for self-reflection on what their life currently looks like and what they want it to be. Only time will tell if there are any noticeable changes in 2022.

  1. This episode did not disappoint! We got more of Frank’s personal life (and his dating flaws which was interesting). Wonder if we will be seeing Sloan again? Henry and Jamie‘s storyline had a good resolution. I’m loving these more emotional monologues that Jamie is giving this season compared to how stoic he usually is. And that Erin and Eddie scene was perfect (even though that was the only non-dinner scene Bridgit got). Shows how far they’ve come since the end of Season 9 and how they do have a more sister-like dynamic. Erin was also definitely hoping for a Jamko baby announcement. I liked Baez’s personal storyline but I never saw Baez as the type to leave an investigation unfinished (especially when it involves assaulted woman). That seemed a little OOC

    1. Absolutely, I love all of these scenes that are about relationships, how the various family members view each other. It was something I expected to see last season in light of the greater restrictions they were working under, and I’m very happy to see it in S12.
Jamie is stoic like Frank, and too often that’s meant the writers have left his feelings unspoken. His monologue in Milestones is the main reason I love that episode, and it’s great to see more of it (especially when Will Estes delivers it so well).
With Baez I’m finding that the focus on her issues is really working to change the balance of her partnership with Danny. She was struggling with self-doubt and it seemed that she was giving into that rather than holding onto her anger at the crime (especially considering how she dealt with the attacker in 11×8). It did feel that it could fit with a general theme in the ep of whether you allow a perceived weakness to define you or fight against it.
